Darius is a recent Computer Science graduate from Durham, now working full-time with the AWS team at QRT. He works with a variety of Cloud and Linux-related technologies, and has a strong passion for HPC systems and optimisation at scale. Outside of work, Darius enjoys reading fantasy works, as well as outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, and camping. He also regularly tinkers with his homelab, often experimenting with new technologies and hardware. James’ world changed in 1982 when he got a Sinclair ZX Spectrum for Christmas. Since then, he hasn’t stopped hacking and noodling about with technology. When he’s not studying the output of an oscilloscope or a logic analyser, he can typically be found kayaking our white water rivers in winter, or navigating our offshore waters when it’s warmer. Jon looks after all things cloud related at QRT. With a background in low latency trading system optimisation and Linux system engineering, he has spent the past 7 years designing and building cloud infrastructure for various financial companies. When not playing with the latest technology or gadget, he loves trying to automate his (not so) smart home, spending time wild camping in the woods, or chasing his dogs and chickens around the garden. Vadim has over a decade of experience in designing and implementing various aspects of latency-critical trading systems, ranging from network connectivity and trading algorithms to sub-microsecond FPGA solutions. He is passionate about optimizing performance and achieving maximum speed from both hardware and software solutions. Currently, Vadim works with the QRT High-Frequency Trading Technology team, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and innovative ideas to minimize tick-to-trade latency. Outside of work, Vadim is an avid hiker who enjoys long-distance trails and has travelled many thousand miles by car across the UK and Europe. He also loves staying busy with DIY projects, reading books, and playing board games with his family. He is currently learning how to play the piano. Charlotte is a Recruitment Lead at QRT, overseeing Technology intern and graduate hiring across Europe. Her role also extends globally to experienced hiring for other key areas of the business. With six years of experience in the Quantitative Hedge Fund industry, Charlotte brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys attending spin classes or spending time with friends. Feel free to reach out to her to learn more about the internship opportunities available in 2025! Anu works alongside Charlotte in the Recruitment team, with a key focus on Campus Technology Recruitment. Her role spans a variety of responsibilities, including interview coordination and booking, facilitating Intern Assessment Centres, and attending networking events at leading universities across the UK. She is a 2024 Psychology graduate from Queen Mary University of London and has had previous experience with recruitment and learning & development internships in industry. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and spending quality time with her friends.
